Roofs for Woofs

Roofs for Woofs

When our friends at the San Diego Roofing Contractors Association (SDRCA) reached out this summer asking for help with their Build-A-Roof (BAR) program, we jumped at the opportunity! The SDRCA’s BAR program awards new roofs to deserving members of the community at no cost to them.

This year, the SDRCA selected Canine Companions for Independence (CCI) as the recipient of the pro-bono award. Canine Companions is a nonprofit organization that provides expertly-trained assistance dogs to children, adults and military veterans with disabilities. Established in 1975, CCI has six training centers across the country, including two in California, one in Florida, Ohio, New York and Texas. The roof on CCI’s Oceanside, CA facility had increasingly serious leaks that were affecting day to day operations.

Roof restoration systems is what we do! The roof at CCI proved to be one of the largest projects the BAR program has supported. After addressing the needs of the facility’s construction, we knew our Armor Flex Silicone system would be ideal for the restoration project. Valued as a $100,000 roof system, we were honored to donate all the materials needed. Our talented team members, John Athanasian, Mike Negrete and Dave Britton also provided SDRCA volunteers with technical training and were hands on throughout the project.

The project was completed in two short weeks.
